These drawings are composed of an irregular circular form confined within a faint enclosure. They exist within an emotional landscape that consists of a seemingly meaningless depth and the fragile structure that nevertheless keeps this absurdity together. Their title Static—the name of the musical composition played during their inception—can refer to two things: an undesirable lack of movement, and a monotonous noise. These drawings arose from both of these emotional states, a space at once devoid of action and yet full of potential. “And when you penetrate to the most high God,” the lyrics state, “you will believe you are mad, you will believe you've gone insane. But I tell you if you follow the secret window and you die to the ego nature, you will penetrate this darkness.”
