Plaster sculptures exploring negative space. These works are a negation of the project Subtracted Stairs (2023), already an apparent negative space itself. These sculptures aim to reverse their predecessor in both form and colour, leading to a sort of double negation that raises the question of which form is derived from which. They aim to explore our mind’s proclivity of situating itself within a space to understand it, and like counter–reliefs, explore the line between two– and three–dimensionality.
