This painting is inspired by the movement and surface of water. In it, the material has created its own rhythms and patterns resulting in a work hovering somewhere between landscape and abstraction. It attempts to remove the artist’s hand by allowing the material to act as it pleases: the pigment is poured but flows where it will, and although the initial action is essential, the work ultimately takes on a life of its own.

This project is a continuation of Waters (Letters from Old Friends) (2023).
